The SMC ALVT flow sensor is based upon Von Karman theory of vortices. This theory states that vortices generated by a bluff body in the pipe that are linearly proportional to the volumetric flow. The highly versatile ALVT Series of flowmeters contian no moving parts and offer excellent accuracy, repeatability and value. Process connections include insertion-type with hot-taped mounting, flange, or wafer connections. The standard configuration provides local indication for flowrate and total flow as well as 4~20mA analog outputs. The electronics are designed to filter out erroneous signals as well as noise due pipe vibration. This style of flowmeter is ideal for saturated and superheated steam, as well as dirty or wet gas applications. |
