ATMF9000 MassFlow Averaging technique

The SMC ATMF9000 series mass flowmeter is ideal for mass flow rate measurement of any compressed gas. Thermal mass flow technology is based on the rate of heat absorbed by a flow stream which is directly proportional to its mass flow. The ATMF9000 is designed for non-ideal flow profiles, such as downstream of a bend, elbow, valve, tee or any other obstruction. The flow averaging tube has a number of large diameter (⅛”) inlet ports along the length of the upstream impact surface. The impact pressure at each inlet port is averaged inside of the tube to create the axial flow through the tube and across the thermal mass flow sensor. Applications include large pipes and ducts with minimal straight runs. The ATMF9000 mass flowmeter will perform well in applications with as few as 2-3 diameters upstream.
FEATURES

Direct mass flow measurement of any gas with actual gas calibration.

Ideal for flow profile with less than five diameters upstream.

Up to four independent switchable flow curves.

Tracking of overall gas consumption over a turndown ratio of at least 100:1.

A 2-line, 16 character display for rate, total, and relay status.

User selectable engineering units, dynamically converts the flow rate and total flow to volumetric units.

Available with Infrared communicator for remote access of data.

Standard software available with multi-curve fit programs.

Up to 20 instant flow adjustments.

Can measure higher velocity than any other thermal mass meter on the market - up to 1970 feet/sec (600 m/s).
